East Frisian Leaf Blend

Notes:  For many years it was rumored that East Frisian tea was grow locally in the cold and sparsely populated region in northeast Germany. This was of course not possible. The prevailing climate and soil conditions make the cultivation of tea impossible, and the tea was most likely obtained from traders from the Netherlands.

East Frisian Leaf Blend

Description:
East Frisia is located on Germany’s cold and wet North Sea coast, and the East Frisians have the distinction of consuming more black tea than anyone else in the world. The tea they prefer is a special blend of premium Assam and Ceylon teas. This unique tea blends the bold flavor profile of the Assam leaf, with the spiciness of a great Ceylon tea. Try it the Frisian way — layered with cream and crystallized sugar.

Growing Region/Country: India, Ceylon

Brewing: Use 3 grams (1 level teaspoon) per 8oz of boiling water, and steep for 4-5 minutes.
